Uber Spotlight: Focus on Corporate Meetings

dallasskylineA Conversation With D. Bradley Kent, Chief Sales and Services Officer for the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau — a PCMA Uber Partner

Q: As the sponsor of the Corporate Meetings HQ initiative at Convening Leaders, what message does the Dallas CVB hope to deliver to attendees?

kentKENT: We believe the education that PCMA provides is as beneficial to corporate planners as it is for its historical foundation with medical and other association planners. We have seen a noticeable increase in demand for Dallas from corporate planners, and as the new home for the North American headquarters of Toyota, Liberty Mutual, and others, we felt our investment to be in line with the needs of our growing customer base.

Q: How was 2015 for corporate meetings in Dallas?

KENT: In 2015, Dallas experienced a record year, like other destinations, and this was mostly attributable to record levels of corporate meetings of all sizes — from our Express Team through our citywide bookings. Companies are recognizing that their business audiences are going to grow at rapid rates in Dallas, which is ranked as Forbes‘ fourth fastest-growing city.

Q: How does the Dallas CVB show its commitment to being a PCMA Uber Partner?

KENT: We use our resources to support PCMA’s educational and research efforts. In the case of the corporate-planner initiatives, our mutual goals clearly align. PCMA is known for its education and professional networking opportunities, and Dallas fully embraces its responsibility to be one of the economic engines behind the growth and professionalism of those meeting professionals who create and execute face-to-face events, experiences, and engagements.
