The Business of Meetings Is Business

besPCMA’s Business Event Series Offers Online, Subscription-Based Learning

Online training for meeting professionals has reached new heights with the introduction of PCMA’s Business Event Series (BES). The interactive, subscription-based program offers on-demand topical training and tools.

Unique to the industry, the BES is quick and affordable, tackling today’s relevant and rapidly changing topics. With updates every six months, the subscription offers users continuous access to engaging, interactive online instruction.

“The BES is a great tool for the department manager who wants to train a team at his or her own pace and then get back together for a conversation at the end,” said Kelly Peacy, CAE, CMP, senior vice president of education and events for PCMA. “Instruction is delivered through today’s foremost authorities on a wide array of industry topics.”

Each year, PCMA will release three BES modules — beginning this past fall with “Digital Events,” “Increased Revenues From Events,” and “Concepts in Meeting Design.” Subscribers are given 10 series licenses, which can be shared across their teams to gain topical knowledge and earn CEUs. Additionally, subscribers are prompted to return to the modules for the latest content and trend updates.

According to Peacy, business-event professionals find it difficult to keep their teams current on critical and trending industry topics — and to provide training in a quick and affordable manner. Thanks to a grant from the PCMA Education Foundation and sponsor NYC & Company, the BES received the financial support it needed to launch.
