Next Up: Strategy of Meetings

A Preview of the PCMA 2016 Education Conference in St. Louis

Convening Leaders might not have wound down yet, but PCMA’s Education Conference Content Committee is already working on the PCMA 2016 Education Conference, which will be held in St. Louis on June 26-29.

The theme of the program will be “Strategy of Meetings,” focusing on how meetings work in concert with the goals and objectives of an organization, according to Jody Egel, CAE, CMP, director of events for PCMA. The program will include entirely new components as well as offerings based on experiments from Convening Leaders.

The Business School sessions, for example, are something that attendees could expect at the Education Conference, Egel said. “I would also encourage participants to stop by the Education Conference/Explore St. Louis space in the VCC Level 1 foyer [here at Convening Leaders],” she said, “to learn more about all the exciting new things happening in St. Louis.”

Attendees also can expect a more in-depth look at different meeting-planning components — and how they can think about them with a strategic mindset. “They can also expect more in-depth networking and conversations at this meeting,” Egel said, “because it is smaller, so there is more time to spend getting to know their peers better.

“We will deliver education that will allow participants to leave and apply their knowledge to their jobs immediately.”
